A family’s greatest joy is always the birth of a child, especially when there has been a protracted wait for it. This also applied to Sonya Harlow, who had prayed for the arrival of her daughter for a long time.
She has been married to US Army veteran Spencer Harlow for 8 years, and the two of them have 10 sons together from prior unions.
It appeared like the mother’s wish was finally coming true when she finally became pregnant and discovered she was having a girl. However, Sonya experienced “ts” during her pregnancy, including high “ssu,” and she was forced to leave her position in healthcare. She persevered through it all though, and on November 5, 2020, she gave birth to her first daughter.
The parents experienced the birth of their daughter as something that was almost dreamlike, and they soon came up with the ideal name for her. She had always had sons up to this point, and she was now hoping for a daughter. Our daughter, Eliyanah, who is the fruit of our prayers, bears our name. Eliyanah’s name first appeared: “God answered,” Spencer said.
However, Sonya tragically took her own life 11 days after Eliyanah was born, on November 16, 2020. When asked about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s..t, Spencer recalled that at around 2 a.m., he heard Sonya making pleading noises, which made it clear to him that she must be in a lot of pain.
“I turned and noticed she was dying. Before the ambulance arrived, we attempted to revive her, but it was too late,” Spencer said.
In addition to being profoundly crushed by the ss, the father was left alone to care for 10 boys and a newborn girl.
“Sonya was a wonderful wife and mother. I’ve never met a woman more lovely than her. She was so vivacious and alive. Spencer described his wife as being adoring, compassionate, and affectionate.
At the same time, Sonya’s “..t” had a terrible impact on her best friend in addition to her husband and kids. Sonya and Nancy Leger Davie have been close friends for 17 years. “I’m not sure how I’ll manage without her. It was significant in my life, she said.
Additionally, Davie has created a GoFundMe page for the Harlow family, who were shocked by Sonya’s actions. Spencer also disclosed that neither he nor his wife had life insurance.
She was unable to work for several months before to the delivery, so her husband was responsible for providing for all ten of their children out of his own money. They had neither a life insurance policy nor any savings because everything had happened so suddenly. The funds raised will be utilized to cover funeral and gravestone costs. And if anything is left over, it will be used to take care of the kids,” Davie said on the website.
